After retiring from working as a registered nurse I had the opportunity to travel overseas with the Textile Museum from Washington DC-learning about oriental rugs and the cultures and people who weave them. I loved the colors, the designs and the people. Along the way I joined the Kansas City Bead Society—also with great colors, designs and people. I am so lucky to have found a much less strenuous opportunity to work with beautiful, pieces of art and a group of people who are incredibly talented and generous with sharing their knowledge. I feel very lucky to have The Red Thread as a place to share what I love with others.
